Rosie's Roadhouse and Brothel

Originally located in Arland, Wyoming, this structure was built in 1884 by Vic Arland for Rosie Williams to entice her to move her business from Red Lodge, Montana.

Later, after Vic was Killed in Red Lodge in 1890 and the town of Arland had declined, Rose moved her business and this building to a location at the intersection of three roads just north of present day Meeteetse, where she, Belle Drewry, Katie (Tahaunous) Durrant and several other women operated a roadhouse and brothel for the next few years until Rose died of cancer in 1894.

During that short time, however, Bill Gallagher was shot and killed near the root cellar outside and Blind Bill Hoolihan died of a gunshot wound at the table inside.

Belle died in Arland after she was poisoned by Katie.

Belle, Blind Bill and Bill Gallagher are all re-buried in the Old Trail Town cemetery. Rose Williams is buried on a hill above Meeteetse and no one knows what became of the indian girl Tahaunous. This is the 28th building that has been moved and preserved at Old Trail Town.
