Museum of the Old West
Old Trail Town transports visitors back in time to the rough and tumble old west. Historic buildings, all furnished with artifacts and antiques from the early fur trade era to the end of the nineteenth century, combine with an extensive display of Native American artifacts to tell the unique story of the men and women who settled this great West.
Founded by local historian and archaeologist Bob Edgar, this historic gem has delighted and intrigued visitors since 1967. Bob Edgar and philanthropist Frances Belden of the Pitchfork Ranch in Meeteetse, Wyoming formed the Museum of the Old West, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) foundation, in 1971 to accept donations and collection.
